Why The Colony Homeowners Pick Us

Landscape Design, Done Right.

Designed for North Texas

Plants chosen for our soil, sun, and water rules. No imported plant palettes that fail in Texas heat.

Native Plant Expertise

Deep familiarity with Texas natives, pollinator gardens, and water-wise design. Lower long-term cost, higher resilience.

Designed for How You Live

Front yard or back, entertaining space or low-maintenance retreat — the design starts with how you actually use your yard.

Landscape Design in The Colony

The Colony sits right on Lewisville Lake, a mix of master-planned lakeside communities and established older sections. We're based in Carrollton, family-owned since 2010, and we've worked here the whole time.

Lake-adjacent grading.

Lots near Lewisville Lake have their own drainage quirks — higher water tables in spots, runoff that has to be managed. We grade with the lake's hydrology in mind so new sod actually roots instead of washing out.

Master-planned standards.

The Tribute, Austin Ranch, and Stewart Peninsula each have their own landscape expectations. We walk the property and tailor the quote to fit the neighborhood from day one.

Family-owned, in-house crews.

A Carrollton family business since 2010, not a franchise. In-house Loera crews do the work.

Questions The Colony Homeowners Ask

Landscape Design FAQ.

How long does a landscape design project take?

Concept to install is typically 3-6 weeks: one week for design, two weeks for review and refinement, one to three weeks for install depending on scope.

Do you do design-only?

Yes. We can deliver a written design package (layouts, plant list, care notes) you take to your own crew, or we design and install as one coordinated project.

Can you design a low-water garden?

Yes. Texas-native and Mediterranean-adapted palettes thrive on twice-a-week watering. Yarrow, salvia, lantana, agave, ornamental grasses, and rosemary are regulars in our designs.

What about edible / kitchen gardens?

Yes. Raised beds, herb spirals, integrated edible-ornamental designs. Tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and pollinators in the same bed.

Do you serve all of The Colony?

Yes — from the lakeside sections at The Tribute and Stewart Peninsula out to Austin Ranch, Eastvale, and the older established blocks. If you're inside The Colony city limits, we cover you.

What grass works best in The Colony?

Bermuda is the default for full-sun lakeside lots. Palisades Zoysia for partial-shade properties. St. Augustine for the shaded older yards. We pick the right grass for your specific spot.

What are the watering rules in The Colony?

The Colony follows the regional Stage 1 schedule most years — twice a week on assigned days. New sod gets a temporary 30-day variance.

The Tribute / Austin Ranch HOA — do you handle the standards?

Yes. The master-planned communities have specific sod, edging, and color-match rules. We walk the property and quote to fit the neighborhood's requirements.

From Cleared Lot to Finished Front Yard

This front yard was a construction site: felled trees, cut stumps, broken concrete, and bare dirt across the whole lot. We cleared and hauled all of it, then rebuilt the yard as one piece with fresh sod, a paver walkway to the porch, mulched beds along the drive, and new shrubs at the foundation.
