Landscaping at estate scale
Southlake yards run large, most of them inside the Carroll ISD footprint, and scale changes the work. A bed program across a one-acre lot needs a real plan for structure, color, and irrigation zones, not a truckload of shrubs. A sod project is measured in pallets by the dozen. A patio has to hold its own against the house. We design and install for that scale, and we maintain to it: the right equipment, enough crew, and a plan for what the property looks like in every season, not just the week after the install.
Builder sod over construction clay, and why grading comes first
Southlake sits on the Blackland Prairie, so the dirt under most estate lots is Houston Black clay: heavy, expansive, and slow to drain. On the bigger Carillon, Stone Lakes, and Vaquero properties, the common problem is a thin builder-sod layer dropped over compacted construction clay that never rooted across an acre of ground. On that much land the clay movement shows up as low spots, standing water, and turf that pulls apart. We grade for drainage first, amend the soil where it needs it, and then lay Bermuda on the wide full-sun lawns, Palisades Zoysia in the partial-shade portions, and St. Augustine in the deep shade under mature trees.
HOA submittals prepared before the work starts
Southlake carries some of the most exacting residential landscape standards in the metroplex, and the estate-tier neighborhoods raise the bar further. Vaquero, Carillon, and several of the gated sections require submitted plans with material specs and color matches before any work begins, and front-yard expectations stay high year-round. We prepare those HOA submittals as part of the estimate at no charge, so the plan is approved before anyone arrives. Southlake also follows the regional twice-a-week watering schedule, and on a large lot we leave you with a watering plan that fits your assigned days.
In December the same rooflines and mature trees we landscape around become the display. We install Christmas lights across Southlake, measured on site, with January takedown included. See our Christmas light installation page for pricing, or the Southlake Christmas lights page.
