Two kinds of Lewisville yards, two kinds of landscaping
Lewisville is really two cities. Castle Hills, Stonebriar Lewisville, and Vista Ridge run larger lots with documented HOA standards, and the landscaping there is about meeting a spec: sod condition, bed color, edging, and plans submitted before work starts. Old Town Lewisville and the blocks near Lakeway and Lakepointe carry mature trees and yards that have been settled for decades, so the work there is restoration: beds that have lost their shape, grading that has drifted, and lawns thinning under a canopy. We do both, and we quote each one for what it actually is.
Lake-adjacent slopes, Blackland clay, and why grading comes first
Lewisville sits on the Blackland Prairie, so most yards are Houston Black clay: heavy, expansive, and slow to drain. Lots near Lewisville Lake add sloped terrain, a higher water table in spots, and real runoff to manage. Drop sod or a bed on a low lakeside corner without fixing the grade and it either washes out or stays soggy enough to rot. We walk the lot first, find the low spots and slopes, grade for drainage, and amend the soil before Bermuda, Palisades Zoysia, or St. Augustine goes in. On a slope, that grading is the difference between a yard that holds and one that slides.
Plant and grass choices for two watering days a week
Lewisville runs a twice-a-week watering schedule most years, on days assigned by your address. Bermuda handles the full-sun lots in Castle Hills and the open lakeside builds, Palisades Zoysia suits the partial-shade yards in Vista Ridge and Garden Ridge, and St. Augustine is still the answer under the mature live oaks and pecans in Old Town. In the beds we lean on native and adapted plants that hold color on the schedule. New sod gets a temporary 30-day variance, and we register the install with the city when it is needed.
In December the same rooflines and mature trees we landscape around become the display. We install Christmas lights across Lewisville, measured on site, with January takedown included. See our Christmas light installation page for pricing, or the Lewisville Christmas lights page.
