Landscaping in the city we know best

We have worked Carrollton yards since 2010, from Old Downtown and Trinity Mills out to Indian Creek, Castle Hills, Furneaux, Hebron Valley, Rosemeade, and the Sandy Lake corridor. Carrollton is a mix: established Old Downtown and Indian Creek lots where beds have outgrown the house and the soil has compacted for decades, and newer Hebron Valley and Castle Hills builds where thin builder sod sits on construction fill that never rooted. The landscaping job is different on each, and because we see both every week, we quote each one for what it actually needs.

Houston Black clay, and why every project starts with grade

Carrollton sits on Houston Black clay, the heavy, expansive Blackland Prairie soil that swells when it rains and shrinks and cracks through a Texas summer. That movement tears apart any lawn, bed, or patio laid on ground nobody graded. We grade for drainage first, amend the soil where it needs it, and only then lay Bermuda, Palisades Zoysia, or St. Augustine, build the beds, or set a paver base. On patios and walkways that base prep is the whole difference between a surface that stays flat and one that heaves in year two.

HOA landscaping, common areas, and Stage 1 watering

Castle Hills carries some of the more specific landscape standards in the city, and sections of Indian Creek, The Branch, and Mill Valley have their own requirements for edging, bed condition, and front-yard turf. We work to those standards on single homes and handle HOA common-area and entry landscaping through our commercial landscaping service. Carrollton runs Stage 1 most years, twice-a-week watering on days assigned by your address, so we plant for that schedule: Bermuda on the full-sun lots, Palisades Zoysia in partial shade, St. Augustine under the mature live oaks in Old Downtown, and native, adapted plants in the beds.

Carrollton is also where our Christmas light installs start every season, from the live oaks in Old Downtown to the two-story rooflines in Castle Hills and Hebron Valley. Every install is measured on site with January takedown included. See our Christmas light installation page for pricing, or the Carrollton Christmas lights page.
